This internship contains 100 hours of instruction, within 1 academic year, once a week. There is no internship in August.
The internship is suitable for students from master's programs in Clinical Psychology, Health Psychology, Clinical and Social Work and other specialties in the field of mental health, physicians, social workers, practicing psychologists and psychotherapists.
Includes:
- Theoretical training
- Study of interviewing techniques, diagnostics and methods of intervention and prevention, psychological support
- Opportunity to observe and consult patients in the clinics of the University Hospital “Lozenets”
- Observation and consultation of patients with various somatic diseases, chronically and terminally ill, patients on hemodialysis, awaiting and after organ transplantation, patients of the obstetrics and gynecology clinic, patients with oncological diseases, children.
- Bedside consultation of the patient
- Consultation before and after operations and interventions
- Possibility for monitoring bedridden patients
- Possibility for group discussions of patients
- Possibility for presenting clinical material to a group
The groups consist of a maximum of 8-10 people. When the capacity is filled, those who wish will be directed to the next possible date. Each intern receives a certificate issued by the educational department at the Lozenets University Hospital. A minimum of 80% attendance is required for the document to be issued.
