About us

Psychological consultation

University Hospital “Lozenets” offers a warm attitude and comprehensive care for your health.

There is a team of psychologists working here, with whom you can consult for free during hospitalization.

A stay in a healthcare facility takes us away from everyday life. It often challenges the ways we are used to coping. Counseling about difficult experiences supports adaptive abilities that affect overall health and well-being.

Meeting a psychologist

You can meet with a psychologist if:

  • your stay in the hospital is associated with a loss of emotional balance;
  • you are about to have an operation or intervention;
  • you have undergone an operation or intervention;
  • you are in a state of crisis or have experienced a traumatic event;
  • you need assistance in making a decision;
  • you need assistance in adapting to your health condition;
  • your expectations for caring for a newborn are too worrying or unclear/you have questions about raising your baby/child;
  • your condition is related to unhealthy habits (regarding food, drinks, movement, work, relationships with others);
  • you have physical symptoms that are unexplained medically, which may have a psychological basis (psychosomatic);
  • your medical condition causes mental changes (depression, anxiety);
  • you have been abused;
  • you want to find out about the benefits of psychological counseling and support groups offered in person or online;
  • you have another reason that is important to you.

Consultations

Consultations are held in a psychological office or at the patient's bedside in the hospital room, at your request or upon recommendation of the medical team.

Consultations are completely confidential. We provide a safe and secure environment for each patient, respect personal dignity and value, and support autonomy and abilities.

If necessary, please contact the staff of the University Hospital "Lozenets" and we will meet with you at the earliest opportunity.
